Frances Camp of Rome Georgia experiences art in writing, oil painting and photography. Her writings include children's literature, poetry, and short stories. Portraits, abstracts, contemporary and landscape paintings make up her painted art. Photographs reveal select portions of the world viewed through the lenses of her camera. Frances attended Shorter College and Atlanta Christian College. For twelve years she studied with Houser Smith, a private art teacher and a former art professor at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She exhibits her work in private and public showings. Some two-dozen previous presentations include viewings at Mercer University in Macon, Tarver Library in Macon, the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, schools and churches in Macon and shows of the Sawnee Art Association, in Cumming, Georgia, the Henry County Arts Alliance, and the Middle Georgia Art Association. Her art appeared in Blue Milk, a magazine for Atlanta visual, literary, and performing artists. Frances was a member of The Georgia Artists Registry of the Atlanta College of Art when it was in Atlanta. Frances enjoys genealogy and has researched her art lineage. This line includes herself as a student of Smith, Smith as a student of Emil Holtzhouser, and Holtzhouser as a student to Robert Henri. She now seeks the many instructors Robert Henri knew. A perpetual student of the arts, she collects books of art and has visited numerous art museums in the United States and abroad.
